     MESA Impact

Washington leads the nation in jobs for people with bachelor degrees in science and engineering, but is 37th in the number of students graduating with these degrees, forcing employers to look outside the state to fill these high demand jobs.

Four full years of high school math (at least through pre-calculus) and four full years of high school science (including biology, chemistry, and physics), are the best predictors of college success. (US Dept of Education 2006)

    • 58 percent of Washington MESA high school seniors complete the full four-year complement of math and science.
